Yearbook : some layout and cover designs
Cover
Our group had a meeting today and we decided on the page numbers and the overall layout/ structure.
we are still waiting to hear back from Paul with the details which we were supposed to have after reading week. We're chasing them up on it.
We decided to go with 84 page numbers with 3 different sections
the ideas
the process
and the finished pieces
Each of us assigned ourselves to different task for the next step.
I am looking into the imagery style and photography side of it ( the course wanted to do some photographing themselves, some using a photography student and then some with us doing it ourselves.
Because this is not going to be so much a year book but more like a lookbook. Its all about the photographs and I feel like we need to be constantly directing whoever is photographing into order to get the exact shot we want
each sections are going to have quite different photography style because of the categorization of the section.
with the process one, there are going to be more detailed action shots ( almost like a start stop motion )

Year Book : Pitch feedback
We've merged our group with
Sam Wallbank
Will Duffy
Paul Bandrenth
So now we have six people in our group.
and we are doing to suface, patterns and textiles's yearbook
The reason being for the tutors choices were that
our original concept of the the abstract family tree tying the course together is actually how the textiles course present and operate themselves. Secondly, Sam's group were picked for this was because their concept/ pitch was mostly focused on the recording of the process progress people go employ during this course and that is shown through photography. Textiles is very process focused and quite hands on and therefore to use photography to document that and show in the year book would actually work really well for this particularly course.
I had our first official meeting and decided that
Robyn Russell will be the project manager
and that Sam Wallbank would be second in command.

Year Book : Proposals and Ideas
Our main concept which Robyn came up with was that we would utilize the idea that this course is like a family and we would demonstrate this concept through the use of a 'family tree'
The idea is to make the family tree quite abstract and actually base it on the map style , especially the tube map
These are some vector art work that I put together for the yearbook proposal
A test to see how the illustrations could work well together with the typeface
This is the design guide line created by robyn
