Drop By Drop : Poster Competition

Drop by Drop is an initiative of the UN Regional Information Centre (UNRIC), in partnership with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The purpose is to create a print advertisement that inspires others to preserve water, now and for future generations. The competition calls on professionals and non-professionals to design a newspaper advertisement, using the competition logo, which inspires the European public in a positive way.

Text or slogans used in the advertisement can be in any of the official languages of the 48 European countries of eligibility. However all submissions must be translated into English, should they be in another language. Entries submitted without translation will be disregarded.

The European ad competition is part of The Future We Want, the UN’s global campaign leading up to the Rio+20 Conference in June 2012. This global conference could change the way we think about our world in terms of economic, social and environmental matters, and that’s why the UN is engaging all citizens to put forward their ideas. Initiatives and competitions like this one from all corners of the globe that will form part of a global conversation about The Future We Want.

1. COMPETITION BRIEF

The brief is to create a print advertisement that inspires others to preserve water, now and for future generations.
What would life look like if you could design it?
Ads should contain positive messages that, for example, could show what people can do in their daily lives to preserve water, to what we can do as communities, countries, and as global citizens.
The ad will be used as a public service announcement to be published in major European print media and other outlets.
The submitted work must include the "Drop by Drop" campaign logo. Language versions of the logo in original colours, negative or in grey scale are available for download. Please see below for details on prescribed size of entries and how to use the logo.
Submissions should take into account the Background information on the UN's conference on sustainable development, and what is known as the "green economy".
The deadline for submissions is 29 February 2012 at midnight.

Its the photography of this restaurant that I'm looking at rather than the actual designs: This will be a good example for me to reference to while photographing my final work.

Mind Design

Mind Design : We designed the logo for MOST, a new major showcase for design at the upcoming Milan Design Week. The event is hosted by Tom Dixon and will be held at the famous Museum of Science and Technology. We are working on a 3D version of the logo and will update this section with more images once MOST kicks off in April.

Circus

dentity for a new club and restaurant with a burlesque theme and changing performances. Since the club interior features many mirrored surfaces, the design of the logo is based on the shape of a kaleidoscope. The outline shape and basic constrution of the logo always remains the same while the inside changes depending on its application. Other influences came from Surrealism, Art Deco, Alice in Wonderland, animals and the steps leading up to the large table that doubles as a stage. A main feature of the interior is a 3 dimensional version of the logo built from different layers of perspex, set into a wall and illuminated from the back in changing colours.
